Marketing Strategies to Help Increase Your Bottom Line

Updated: Sep 3, 2020

Selling cars and providing great service to customers are the key drivers for earning a profit in the dealership world. The more cars you sell, the more profits your dealership will likely make. The better your services are, the more money your dealership will make while also keeping loyal customers. However, with no customers, there can be no sales and no services to provide. This is where marketing comes into place. Good marketing strategies can help your dealership increase the volume of new and returning customers.

Marketing has changed throughout the years. Billboard, TV, and radio ads have traditionally been the norm for marketing channels. However, thanks to the internet, social media has become a huge marketing channel. Social media is a great way to market your dealership’s promotions to many types of audiences. Update your social media and show your audience new arrivals and current promotions. Social media presence and influence has increased this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic which makes this strategy increasingly effective. Take advantage and show the social world what your dealership has to offer.

Another marketing strategy that you can use is to get testimonials from current clients. Testimonials and customer reviews can play a key role in a customer’s decision on what product to buy or what store to purchase from. Dedicate a section in your dealership website for testimonials. Let your customers share their experience so that others can read it and be persuaded to go to your dealership. Encourage your customers to leave reviews on your website and your social media platforms. Consumers want to know what they are getting into and if it is a good decision to go to your dealership. Testimonials are a great way to attract them in.

The last marketing strategy, which appears obvious but could easily be overlooked is to learn from your competition. Look at what your competitors are doing and see if you can learn from them. They might be using a marketing media that is innovative which you were not aware of, or conversely, they might be targeting the wrong audience or conveying the wrong message, creating an opportunity for you to take advantage their missed opportunity. Remember that your method of marketing is not always the only way nor the best way. Look around and see if your competitors are doing something that could be beneficial to your own dealership.

The above marketing strategies can help increase the volume of new customers considering your dealership for future business. The right marketing approach can help your dealership sell more cars and provide more services. You should continuously adapt and change your marketing methods in order to attract new customers and stay ahead of the game.
